GMD was founded in 1947, by Gerhard Müller - one of the important ropeway pioneers. The product main line was based on the Monocable system. Encompassing ski lifts, handle tows, chairlifts and cabin lifts, GMD Gerhard Müller Maschinenbau AG and GMD Müller Lifts have built many installations all over the world. GMD was taken over in 1985 by the Management under the name of ROWEMA. which stands for Ropeway Engineering and Manufacture. ROWEMA has taken over the complete know-how and goodwill and is the sole legal successor of GMD Müller Lifts.

Mueller Lifts Canada started in 1968 with Karl Ernst and has partnered with GMD and Rowema on many installations around the world. Mueller Lifts Parts & Service is the only official OEM supplier for Mueller/Rowema brand lifts and parts in North America.

We are now the fourth generation of owners based in the heart of Canada's best ski region, The Okanagan Valley. Within a two hours' drive, you find the resorts of Silver Star, Big White, Apex, Sun Peaks, Revelstoke and Mt. Baldy.

With the recent purchase of Mueller Lifts Services Inc, new owners John and Heidi Gibson are excited to continue the Mueller Lifts legacy in North America, providing exceptional customer service and the highest quality of work.
